Renard 24 LV

Renard 24 LV 1.0
About the Board

The Renard 24 LV is a 24 channel low current DC or remote SSR controller.
The biggest advange to the Ren 24 LV, is the use of the ULN2803 darlington array for DC switching.  This allows each channel to switch up to 500ma DC current, allowing for the Ren 24 LV to drive a variety of items at a very low per channel cost.
- Mighty Mini
- PortaFlood
- LED Flood Strips
- Individual LED’s such as LED strobes.
- Standard AC SSR’s
- DC SSR’s

Another huge benefit to the Ren 24 LV is for low current DC applications. The cost per channel (at Mouser pricing for 1 board for 9/18/2009 is $1.54 per channel)

The “core” of the Renard 24 LV is identical to the Renard 24.  The outputs from the Microchip PIC’s goes directly to the inputs of the ULN2803.

Assembly Instructions

PCB Assembly Doccumention (This is for the Renard 24 – I haven’t done doccumentation for the Ren 24 LV yet) follow along with the center assembly instructions, and then just install the RJ45’s and sockets for the ULN’s and then the ULN chips.

Assembly Notes

The power selection jumpers are on the right of the board, please set to the appropriate voltage. Please see notes below for use with 18v to 36v DC.

Mouser Project - this is a orderable list directly from Mouser!

For using with 18v and above power inputs, part xxx-xxx-xxx from Farnell is the reccommended voltage regulator. It will allow for 18v to 36v inputs with no excess heat on the regulator.

A lower cost alternate would be to use a 10w 40ohm resistor to jumper the t

op right two pins on the power input selection block.
